Urban Decay NAKED Ultimate Basics Eyeshadow Palette

I get so excited when Urban Decay release a new beauty launch, especially with their famous NAKED eyeshadow palettes. I remember when I bought my first Urban Decay palette, the original NAKED palette, I would actually say that is my favourite Urban Decay eyeshadow palette, until now... They launched this palette in the UK around September time (I believe)?! I remember seeing all the sneek peeks around the August summer time. But anyway, I did actually receive this palette as a present for Christmas. Urban Decay did release 2 palettes before the ultimate basics, one was called naked basics and the second palette was called naked basics 2 there are 5 shades in each of these palettes, so I guess if you wanted something smaller and easy to travel with, these would be great.

In the Utlimate basics palette there are 12 new shades. All matte, although I would say 'blow' has a slight pearliness to it, I use that one to go underneath my brow bone as a highlight and in my inner corners to really make them pop! All the shades are really easy to wear, you can create so many different looks with the colours. Theres a really lovely pinky toned shade called 'instinct' which I think is something very on trend at the moment. However my most worn shades and the ones I use on a everyday basis are 'blow, nudie, commando and tempted' Basically the first 4 shades in the palette. I wouldn't expect anything less from Urban Decay, but all the shades are very buttery and easy to blend. I can see myself using this palette for a very long time. A makeup must have.

M.A.C Warm Neutral Eyeshadow Palette

This is a product which I drool over every time I go to Mac or I'm on their website. I obsess over any palette really, but this one is special because its got Mac eyeshadows in which I would say, are my favourite eyeshadows. Yes, I love the Urban Decay Naked Palettes, Zoeva Cocoa Blends and Sleek eyeshadows but Mac is just a cult classic staple.

Theres two options with these x15 palettes from Mac, you can either buy the black case and filler, which I believe is £10 for the case and £2.50 for the fillers. Then you have the option to fill your palette up with all the great shades, the pan fill shades you need are £10 each! It gives you your chance to put your own spin on the palette, you can choose what you like, and make it unique to you. Or, you can do what I did... Theres custom eyeshadow palettes, they are £60 for 15 eyeshadows, plus the case (shown in pictures). I think there are two custom palettes 'warm neutral' or 'cool neutral' I picked the warm neutral because I do just love a good bronze, orange toned eyeshadow that makes my blue eyes pop!

With the way I did it, just buying the palette, it's not as fun but you get shades you might not of even picked yourself and end up loving them! Of course, it could be the other way around too. It saves a lot of money though! I've just totted up, how much it would be starting from scratch... ready?! £162.50! Or I paid £60 for the pre-selected palette!

Shades in my palette;

Hey, Warm breeze, Gingersnap, Dark brew, Dance in the dark
Brule, Vanilla extract, Honey lust, Amber lights, Saddle
Lemon tart, Creative copper, Butterfudge, Divine decadence, Unwind

Some of these shades, you might not of ever heard of, thats because they aren't in the permanent range at Mac. So the pre-made palettes do have shades you can't get singly.

What's your favourite Mac shade?

New Makeup For Chrimbo

I have been very spoilt for Christmas, my boyfriend, friend and parents got me some new makeup. I did have to hint quite a bit to them for what I wanted. But I am so over the moon with these makeup bits, yes I am a bit of a fanatic when it comes to beauty pieces.

I think palettes are just lovely gifts to receive and theres so many gorgeous palettes in the beauty world. The three I've received this Christmas are lovely and from amazing brands. The No7 one was from my parents and theres just so many colours, 20 amazing shades. The Mac palette, is very tiny but very cute. I wish it was the normal size for a palette so I could custom it with the shades I've already got from Mac, but we can't complain. The Zoeva palette was from my boyfriend, and I've just seen so many people rave about it. I've never used any Zoeva makeup so I  was just so intrigued.

You can't have eyeshadows without having some tools to apply them with. These brushes were from my boyfriend and he got them from Zoeva. Again, I have just heard some many good things about Zoeva brushes and they are very affordable. My boyfriend thought I was boring asking for makeup products for my Christmas present, but I love receiving makeup as a gift. So who cares what he thinks, eh ;).

Whats Christmas without receiving some goodies from Mac?! I just love Mac, all the products I've ever used have just been amazing and such good quality. Most of my favourite beauty products are Mac ones, so doesn't that tell you something!

Drugstore/highstreet beauty Haul

It all went wrong, I went into Boots and I just kept putting items into my shopping basket and came away with a lot less money in my bank account. Oh well, at least its created a blog post for ya, eh.. haha.

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer - 1 light.

I have loved this concealer for a very long time, it has a very high coverage. I use this on any blemishes and redness that I may have. I would say to stay away from putting it under your eyes because it sometimes does get cakey under the eyes.
RRP: £4.19

Rimmel London Lasting Finish Mono Blush - Santa Rose

I picked this up because I just thought it was such a nice peach colour. My favourite blusher is Benefit's Coralista and it just reminded me of that for a fraction of the price.
RRP: £3.99

Rimmel blush (left) L'Oreal Eyeshadow (right)

Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara [waterproof] black

I'm not one for waterproof mascaras, just because I've always thought they take ages to take off at the end of the day, aint nobody got time for that! You're probably thinking, I didn't mean to buy it then?! Say what... But yes, my eyes have been watering now, since I went to France really. I don't really know whats going on with them! Therefore I picked up a waterproof mascara to stop the mascara smudging all over my face. So far, so good.
RRP:£7.99

Soap and Glory Gloss Stick - Nudist

I have heard a lot of people chatting on about these little beauties. I believe they used to be twice the size and twice the price. I do really like the smaller size, its more travel friendly and just a lot cuter. I love the shade 'nudist' it's a very good natural colour, great for everyday wear and just a lovely option if you don't like venturing out for bright shades. Very creamy and glossy too, I love the formula, very hydrating.
RRP: £3.50

Eylure Eyelashes - 100 petite volume

Purely picked these up for one word and one word only... petite! I always find it hard when it comes to lashes, purely because of the size, they are always waaaaay too long for my eyes and I can never seem to cut them correctly and then they just don't look right and they then fall off. Never a good look. Hopefully these petite ones will just do the trick for me.
RRP: £5.29

Garnier Micellar water x2 - [sensitive skin]

I love the Garnier Micellar water, it's great if you want a quick refreshing wash over your face, using a cotton pad. Or it's great for removing makeup. I picked up 2 of the mini ones because they are super cute! I am using the big 400ml bottle atm, and honestly it's lasted me ages! The mini ones just worked out cheaper, hense buying those (haha).
RRP: £1.00 (each)

L'Oreal Colour Riche Eyeshadow - 107 Macaron Vanille

I am yet to use this particular shade, however I have used one of these eyeshadows before (206 nude -  Little Beige Dress) and the shadow broke after like a day, I wasn't impressed at all. But I did think I would give these shadows another go. The shade I have now is a lovely matte shade, it's slightly orangey and I thought it would look nice in the crease.
RRP: £5.49

Maybelline 7 day wear nail varnish - 05

I'm always on the prawl to find a nail varnish that lasts longer than a day (haha) but yes, when I saw that this said 7 days, I thought I need it! The shade is also very autumnal, a very deep burgundy shade. I have just applied this for the first time, it only took 1 coat to get a good solid colour, so I am impressed with it at the minute. If my views change, you will be the first to know!
RRP: £4.49

Barry M Sunset Daylight Curing Nail Paint - Dark Side of the Shroom
& Daylight during Topcoat

Without a doubt this is my favourite product I bought, I love the shade of this nail paint, its a beautiful muted lilac shade. The Topcoat is nice too, the idea behind this range (I am late on this bandwagon but please forgive me) is that you apply your nail paint and then you apply the topcoat. The daylight curing topcoat is the only topcoat that will work. The topcoat is meant to cure your nails in natural daylight, leaving long lasting nails. I really really like this combo, highly recommend. I would have to say there aren't too many colours in the range that I like though, there was a nice fuchsia pink and a cute little baby pink. Other than that not many of the colours stood out too me.
RRP: £4.99 (each)

Hope you enjoyed that beauty haul from the drugstore/highstreet. I do really love popping in and seeing what new affordable bits are about. Speak to you soon!
